‘The people’ support Taksin. They supported him when he won a landslide election a year ago and even the opposition admits he would win another landslide- hence the refusal of the three major opposition parties to run against the TRT in the election on Sunday. Rightly or wrongly. The so called PAD seeks to put democracy in the hands of a minority of middle class ‘people’ in opposition to the wishes of the vast majority.
whatever this is, and it is many many things, it is not people power. These same people have petitioned the king to appoint a Prime Minister. Is that your idea of Power to the People?
