Hartford Courant: Does Romney’s Mormonism Matter?
Romney avoids specific questions about the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints; many of the frontier, persecuted cultish faiths with a messianic hero (in this case, Joseph Smith), offer up some idiosyncrasies that might sound a bit peculiar to nonbelievers.
On the other hand, the Mormons apparently aren't so peculiar as to scare people away. They have attracted tens of thousands of converts that mainstream Protestants only wish they had.

But isn’t it the very vocal and influential fundamentalist wing of the party that will take issue with his Mormonsim?
Seem like mainstream Protestants are split betweenthe parties…
Your link is to a Darfur site. Was that intentional?
Last Lemming, thanks for letting me know the link is wrong: http://www.courant.com/news/opinion/op_ed/hc-cohen0405.artapr05,0,2371037.column?coll=hc-headlines-oped
Watt, you are correct. Both the far-rigth and far-left will not vote for Mitt because of his religion. Sad, yes, but true.
