MATTHEW Krok was the most recognisable kid on TV, identified not by name but by a cruel description, “the fat kid from Hey Dad“.

That or “the fat kid from the Sorbent ads”.

That’s a lot of baggage for any kid to endure before his teens.

“I think some of it got to me,” Krok recalls.

“Kids latch on to that sort of stuff and I copped a bit of teasing.”

Now 24, Krok has come out the other side of being a “former child star” remarkably unscathed, which he credits to the support of his family and his religion.

Krok was raised as a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints and last year finished a two-year stint as a Mormon missionary. …[Click for more]
