Latter-day Saint’s cherish patriotism and love of country in all lands. The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints through it’s scriptures & leaders foster this homeland patriotism and its one of the many marvelously good, respectable and admirable characteristics of the LDS Church that I love.

Local church hosts July 4th breakfast

BROADNECK — Local members of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, known informally as the Mormons, will hold their annual flag-raising and breakfast on the 4th of July, rain or shine. The event is free and the public is welcome.

At 8 a.m. Boy Scouts will raise the flag and the Pledge of Allegiance will be recited, followed by a short speech about Independence Day. Afterward, members will serve a breakfast of pancakes, sausage links, omelets and orange juice on the lawn in front of the church. In the event of rain, breakfast will be held inside the church’s gym.
