9/11 Conspiracy Cereal: A Few Nuts and a Bunch of Flakes

It’s worth repeating: It’s a travesty that 9/11 Conspiracies have gotten any traction at all.

To actively promote this ugly & insidious disinformation is shameful.

Such outlandish conspiratorial accusations proffered by the 9/11 Conspiracy crowd ought to be vehemently repudiated for the rubbish that it is.

To believe and promote such lies dishonors those who died at the hands of the murderers who were guilty of such cold-blooded barbarity and heinous crimes against humanity.

Naive and demonstrative of a lack of sophistication and critical judgment are the 9/11 conspiratorialists. They operated in a data free environment, eager to replace & dismiss facts with specious theories devoid of substance.

Militant Islam is the enemy; not Bush, not the Bush Administration, not the U.S. military, not the U.S. Congress, or any other bogus trumped-up enemy.

Militant Islam is a secret combination, not Bush, not the Bush Administration, not the U.S. military, not the U.S. Congress, or any other bogus trumped-up enemy.

Militant Islam is the modern-day Gadianton Robbers, not Bush, not the Bush Administration, not the U.S. military, not the U.S. Congress, or any other bogus trumped-up enemy.

Militant Islam is the greatest threat to American and world peace, not Bush, not the Bush Administration, not the U.S. military, not the U.S. Congress, or any other bogus trumped-up enemy.

Militant Islam is responsible for 9/11, not Bush, not the Bush Administration, not the U.S. military, not the U.S. Congress, or any other bogus trumped-up enemy.

As the editors of Popular Mechanics puts it, “In the end, we were able to debunk each of these assertions with hard evidence and a healthy dose of common sense. We learned that a few theories are based on something as innocent as a reporting error on that chaotic day. Others are the byproducts of cynical imaginations that aim to inject suspicion and animosity into public debate. Only by confronting such poisonous claims with irrefutable facts can we understand what really happened on a day that is forever seared into world history.” Here: http://www.popularmechanics.com/science/defense/1227842.html

In almost every event of world significance, whether it is man-made or natural, there are those who will never accept the official or logical explanation for those events, but instead will put on their tin foil hats and deduce a far-reaching cover-up or conspiracy. As we draw near to the fifth anniversary of the terrorist attacks of September 11, 2001, those conspiracy theorists are in full bloom and are certain that the attacks which killed nearly 3,000 people on American soil were organized by our own government. …[Read more]

  1. Steven Jones is on paid leave not because BYU has expressed doubts about his research, but rather because he had the audacity to publicy assert that members of our government had a role in the attack of 9/11. It is very easy to claim that Militant Islam is responsible for 9/11 and they are the equivalent to the Gadianton Robbers of old. I too once believed that, until I actually researched 9/11 and the events surrounding it. I would suggest that research, not gratuitous assertion, be the basis of your opinions about 9/11. You start off your comments by insulting the “conspiracy crowd” and then, without any evidence, you assert that you have knowledge that militant Islam is the enemy. I would ask you where you gained that knowledge, because you offer no evidence in your comments. In fact your comments provide ample evidence that you are “eager to replace & dismiss facts with specious theories devoid of substance.”
Please explain to your readers how you came to the knowledge of militant Islamic involvement in the attacks of September 11th, because, without evidence, your assertions amount to nothing more than another conspiracy theory.
As a member of the LDS church my allegiances lie with my Heavenly Father. I will render unto Ceasar what is Ceasar’s, but I will not blindly accept whatever my government tells me to accept. The founding fathers were well aware of the corrupting influence of political power. That is why the Constitution recognizes our right to petition the government for a redress of grievances and provides a system of checks and balances to keep any branch of government from gaining too much power.
I have done an abundance of research into 9/11 and I attest that the governemnt has repeatedly lied about and obfuscated the truth about 9/11. Some of the 9/11 Comissioners now claim that they were in fact blocked from making a full and thorough investigation.
But, putting facts aside, I come to my main point. You cannot have an educated opinion about any topic without research. As I tell anyone investigating truth: look at both sides, compare and contrast what you see and hear. At this point it is well known that Popular Mechanics has a political agenda and has not, in fact, thoroughly researched 9/11. They have been shown to repeatedly accept the government’s story and to find evedence to support that story instead of actually investigating.
I challenge anyone reading this post to actually do some research into 9/11. I understand that doing such research demands discarding naive and blind faith in our governemnt, but there are better things to have faith in, such as the freedoms God has given us and that are recognized in our Constitution. In November 2005, President Buch proclaimed that our Consitiution is “just a goddamned piece of paper.” If you refuse to find out the truth about 9/11, then I assert that you agree with our President’s characterization of the Constitution.

  2. Michael, thank you for that. I live in Arizona and on Charles Goyette show 1100 AM, one of the researchers for Popular Mechanics was a guest. He was supposed to be on for an hour but decided to be on for only 1/2 hr. Long story short. He claimed to have seen pictures of bldg 7 which supposedly showed 1/4 of the building torn away due to one of the towers falling. This was part of his arguement for why building 7 fell, (which the Kean Commission somehow decided not to mention at all). Further, he said no one else in the public can see these pictures due to on going investigation.

It is interesting that nobody from bldg 7 died if 1/4 of the building was destroyed. Some how Popular Mechanics magazine gets special privilege to see these mystical photos. They’re a magazine for pete sake, not a government agency. However, they do have ties to government. Michael Chertoff’s cousin, Benjamin Chertoff, is one of the top researchers of the magazine and what is even more striking is Popular Mechanics denied it. An investigative reporter did a little research, called Benjamin’s aunt and asked her regarding the relationship and she said yes they are related. WHAT? Why would POP MEch lie or not want anyone to know about this conflict of interest? I think we all know.

Another conflict of interest is the fact that Popular Mech. relies on a heavty chunk of its advertising from DEFEFENSE CONTRACTORS! Why in the world would they care about the official conspriracy theory that 19 Arabs accomplished this impossibilty. Talk about a fairy tale.

It is no small surprise that Popular Mechanics is owned by Hearst Corporation. As fictionalized in Orson Welles’ acclaimed film Citizen Kane, William Randolph Hearst wrote the book on cronyism and yellow journalism and Popular Mechanics hasn’t bucked that tradition.

Lastly, when asked about some of the purported highjackers coming forward on the BBC and the AP news wire and at the US Embassy in Morrocco. The Pop Mech. researcher said that story wasn’t true. Further, he said the reason being is that all the highjackers were identified through DNA. When asked how the govenment obtained their DNA to match with the DNA at the World Trade Center, Pentagon, or crash site in Pennsylvania, he said he didn’t know.

What a ludicrous thing to say. The explosions from these planes supposedly created such heat as to facilitate the collapse of two steel structures, but he wants us to believe they id’ed these guys with DNA. The crash site in Pennsylvania didn’t indicated a plane was even there. The Pentagon crash supposedly didn’t leave any semblance of a plane. The titanian engines supposedly evaporated. However, the Washington Post and the Mercury news reported that all the passengers including the highjackers were identified with fingerprints and DNA. American Force Press Service too reported that all passengers and highjackers were identifed via fingerprints. Virtually everything was destroy but fingerprints? We are not that stupid or are we?

  3. Michael, you are wrong when you claim “not because BYU has expressed doubts about his research, but rather because he had the audacity to publicy [sic] assert that members of our government had a role in the attack of 9/11.”

Point in fact BYU has expressed doubts about his research: “We are, however, concerned about the increasingly speculative and accusatory nature of these statements by Dr. Jones.” Source: http://www.deseretnews.com/dn/view/0,1249,645199800,00.html

Second, let us look at the word you chose, “audacity”: 1. boldness or daring, esp. with confident or arrogant disregard for personal safety, conventional thought, or other restrictions. 2. effrontery or insolence; shameless boldness: His questioner’s audacity shocked the lecturer. —Synonyms 1. nerve, spunk, grit, temerity, foolhardiness. 2. impudence, impertinence, brashness. —Antonyms 1, 2. discretion, prudence. And temerity = is reckless boldness; rashness.

You can see that “audacity” and the scientific method/responsible method are antithetical behaviors, thus again proving Steven Jones is a quack (wacko, nutcase) in the eyes of BYU/Church leadership.

  4. Michael, you state, “It is very easy to claim that Militant Islam is responsible for 9/11 and they are the equivalent to the Gadianton Robbers of old. I too once believed that, until I actually researched 9/11 and the events surrounding it.”

It’s “very easy” to claim Jihadists are equivalent to Gadianton robbers because it is the truth.

Point of fact that is preciously what President Hinckley said regarding Jihadists, “We of this Church know something of such groups. The Book of Mormon speaks of the Gadianton robbers, a vicious, oath-bound, and secret organization bent on evil and destruction. In their day they did all in their power, by whatever means available, to bring down the Church, to woo the people with sophistry, and to take control of the society. We see the same thing in the present situation. … On the Larry King television broadcast the other night, I was asked what I think of those who, in the name of their religion, carry out such infamous activities. I replied, “Religion offers no shield for wickedness, for evil, for those kinds of things. The God in whom I believe does not foster this kind of action. He is a God of mercy. He is a God of love. He is a God of peace and reassurance, and I look to Him in times such as this as a comfort and a source of strength.”” http://www.lds.org/conference/talk/display/0,5232,23-1-225-27,00.html

I’d strongly recommend you re-believe in reality and President Hinckley’s interpretation of events and his identifying the real enemy, thus seeing things as they really are. Stop believing in the fictitious fantasies of the 9/11 conspirators like the ilk of Steven Jones et al. Steven Jones is a false prophet.

  5. You manage to blatantly contradict yourself in your first post. The quote you listed clearly talks about Dr. Jones statements, not his research and the article clearly differentiates between the two. In fact he was not suspended because of his research but because of the “increasingly speculative and accusatory nature of (his) statements” not his research. I can read. Can you? The only complaint stated about this research in the article is that it was not peer reviewed. The article does not comment on the relative merits or the weakesses of his research.

I notice, as well, that you do not even attempt to discuss Dr. Jones’ research. You’re better off that way, since an honest appraisal of the facts is not likely to support your rather ignorant position. As far as Dr. Jones’ audacity in expressing his view apart from his research, we live in America, where we can hopefully express our opinions . Dr. Jones, in contrast to you, has done some research upon which to hang his opinions. As far as I can ascertain, you have done little or no research into the events of September 11. Therefore you have even less ground to stand on than Dr. Jones, unless publishing a website makes you, defacto, a researcher or scientist.

Second, I cannot argue with the sentiment of President Hinckley’s statement regarding jihadists and I don’t believe I have ever said anything to the contrary. Yes jihadists are bad, but because they are evil does that make them responsible for the events of September 11th? I would suggest that they are only responsible if they committed the crime. Your connection to Pres. Hinckley’s statement is a logical fallacy that is commonly referred to as ‘begging the question.” See this link for an explanation of the problem: http://www.nizkor.org/features/fallacies/begging-the-question.html
Your basic argument here is that jihadists are responsible for September 11th because Pres. Hinckley says they are evil. Funny. If president Hinckley says that divorce is a scourge upon our society does that mean divorce is resposible for the events of September 11th?

I have read and heard Pres. Hinckley’s talk in its entirety and nowhere does he assigned specific blame to jihadists. The only specific organizations blamed in his talk were terrorist organizations, which, by definition, would be whatever organizations commited the attacks of September 11. I agree wholeheartedly with Pres. Hinckley that those terrorist organizations should be “ferreted out and brought down.”

Many questions remain, though. Did elements of our government stand to gain from the events of September 11th? Were you aware that on september 10th, 2001 Donald Rumsfeld announced that 2.3 trillion dollars, or 25% of the defense budget, was declared missing. That news was seemingly forgotten during the events of the next day. See link: http://www.cbsnews.com/stories/2002/01/29/eveningnews/main325985.shtml

Were you aware that many individuals made millions of dollars by making “put” option trades on American Airlines stock in the period before and during September 11th? “Put” options are basically bets that a stock will decrease in value and although such options don’t indicate direct involvement in 9/11 they do indicate foreknowledge of 9/11 and our government’s refusal to investigate indicates a clear cover-up. See link: http://www.yirmeyahureview.com/archive/911/insider_trading.htm

Were you aware that on September 11th a US intelligence agency had organized a training event in which they simulated what would happen if aircraft crashed into governemnt buildings near Washington, DC? Pretty amazing coincidence isnt it? See link:

Were you aware that there are literally hundreds of facts that point to either government foreknowledge or cover up of 9/11? You probably weren’t aware of this since you apparently haven’t actually researched the events of 9/11. I can site many mainstream media articles which detail government foreknowledge and obfuscation.
See this link for a few: http://www.wanttoknow.info/9-11cover-up

Back to my original point: do the research, do the research, do the research. If you continue to refuse to do the research you will continue to sound ignorant and uninformed. It is telling that you claim to know “things as they really are”, since, as Daniel Boorstein once said “The greatest obstacle to discovery is not ignorance — it is the illusion of knowledge.”

  6. It is physically impossible for the WTC buildings to have collapsed as a result of being struck by one commercial airplane each. PERIOD.
It is physically impossible for the third building, which was not hit or targeted in any way, to have collpased period. PERIOD.
It is physically impossible for a commercial airliner to fit through the hole in the side of pentagon that resulted from whatever caused the explosion. PERIOD.
It is physically impossible for an entire commercial airliner to be incinerated by the fuel it carries. PERIOD.
It is physically impossible to find evidence of human DNA from among the ruins of an incinerated commercial airliner.
It is physically impossible the commercial airliner that allegedly hit the pentagon to have withstood the g-forces resulting from the documented speeds at which it took its documented turn toward its target.

Listen. I’m not all that intelligent. There’s really no use in engaging ME in any argument. No use insulting my intelligence or wether I’m literate or not or….so on.
The point I want to make is:
What kind of person- no, what kind of American, when presented with these FACTS, wouldn’t look into them enough to verify or disprove their validity?
What kind of American would hand over their liberties to a Government that has overtly lied about the events that allegedly warrant our total compliance?
Since when did justified questioning of the Government become un-patriotic?
Since when did demanding accountability from our elected officials become un-American?
Since when has COMMON SENSE been abondoned by MILLIONS of my countrymen?
I’ll tell you. Since they convinced us that we need to just say “yes” in order to be safe; since they scared the %$&@ out of us by any means necassary!
We have been given the responsibility of keeping our government accountable, transparent and a SERVANT of the people by the very founders of the land we live in!
It is ABSOLUTELY UNAMERICAN and IRRESPONSIBLE NOT, I repeat, NOT to question the people we are putting in charge of our safety.
You fail your country, you fail your family, you fail God when you don’t do everything you can to protect and provide for your family and for your country.
THEY SERVE YOU!!! How long would you last at work if when your boss asked you why an account inexplicably fell through you said, “None of your business? Quit asking questions…for your own good!”
These are facts! This is the way it is! Please! I know it’s not easy to consider but, for your FAMILY, seek the truth. It’s really, REALLY not hard to find.

  7. P.S.
PLEASE, don’t take my word for it. I’m human. I may or may not relay the facts 100% accurately.
Find and focus on the facts. Believe me, I know it’s hard to accept or even consider that our very own Government might have something to do with THOUSANDS of Americans dying but you owe it to yourself, your family and, above all else, God to demand the truth.
If there is one shred of doubt about the integrity of the Governments story (and, good God, there should be!) then you shouldn’t have to be persuaded into investigating it: you should be ACTIVELY and WILLINGLY looking into it for and of yourself. This is your DUTY as an American. Who has convinced you otherwise?
Don’t throw out the facts as “theories”. With something this big, this important that would be just….dangerous. I don’t even know you but I would protect you from harm if put in the situation. We have a basic reponsibility to take care of one another. This is very, very….VERY serious. Investigate it as if it were your Mothers death. Approach it as if it were any other murder investigation. Would you seriously just stand by and not ask any questions? This is is your duty, Sir. We are family…under God.

  8. J. Reuben Clark Jr. said… “our constitutions system, which must not under ANY pretext or plausible sophistry be destroy. It must at all hazards and at all costs be maintained. Our very existence and yours depends upon it.”(Constitution By A Tread, p. 81)

  9. Thanks to a bill that was just passed last night, American citizens can now be tortured and held indefinitely, even after being acquitted. September 11th has provided our government the perfect excuse, through the guise of the war on terror, to wage war on the constitution and on our constitutional freedoms.

If our government wasn’t involved in September 11th, it is an amazing coincidence how the events of 9/11 have worked to help imperialistic causes within the government. Both the wars in Iraq and Afganistan, though planned before 9/11, were pushed through using 9/11 as an excuse even though Bush now claims that there is no evidence Iraq had anything to do with 9/11.

Septemeber 11th provided a perfect opportunity for our government to cover up the loss of 2.3 trillion (no typo here) dollars from the military budget. September 11th provided the perfect opportunity for some unnamed individuals to make millions of dollars in questionable stock trades. September 11th provided the perfect opportunity for a massive increase in military spending.

September 11th provided a perfect chance for Larry Silverstein to turn a multimillion dollar investment into a 7 billion dollar profit and to get free demolition for buildings that were estimated to cost over a billion dollars to either demolish or renovate. Through the destruction of tower 7 in the WTC complex, which housed an office of the Securities and Exchange Comission, the records of both the Enron and Global Crossing investigations were destroyed. The destruction of building 7 also resulted in the loss of the paperwork for the investigation into the California untilites scandal. Now there is no investigation of the estimated 700 billion dollars that were swindled in California.

Dick Cheney still has a quantity of Halliburton Stock (433,333 options to be exact). This stock rose 3,281% in value in 2005, mainly due to unbid goverment contracts for the war on terror.
It seems that our current administation has gained so much more from 9/11 than the Muslim extremists did.

  10. No offense ldspatriot, but I post this not to engage you in a debate (which I truly believe is a waste of time), but to make some other points to those of us reading these posts and for whom there are questions–surely no one can reasonably say that 9/11 is not worthy of our most vigilant consideration. It is for all of us that I write. To make my first point:

“It’s “very easy” to claim Jihadists are equivalent to Gadianton robbers because it is the truth.”

No comment even needed there regarding your logic.

    As for President Hinckley’s remarks:

“…to woo the people with sophistry, and to take control of the society.”

I certainly agree that the Gadianton Robbers would have had these qualities. As for taking control of society and wooing people with sophistry, bearded guys in caves are not the first thing that comes to mind, nor even the last.

In fact it doesn’t come to mind at all.

What does come to mind however, are those who actually use sophistry and who are, through repeated attacts on the Constitution, taking control of society. I submit that the average American will not be wooed by a tall, bearded, Arabic-speaking man in a robe, wafting an AK-47 about, captured on grainy footage with poor audio; to be wooed by sophistry in this country requires an Armani suit, an “Aw shucks” kind of swagger, and a classic good guys/bad guys approach to everything to break it down to sound bytes and bumper stickers–the stuff that’s easy to remember while driving between soccer games–afterall, we’re all busy right? (If anyone wishes to know why this black and white approach to worldview is important as a means of societal control, please take a look at the works of Leo Strauss, the ideological father of the neoconservative movement.)

As for our true guiding political principles: The very idea that as Latter-Day Saints we would even question whether or not the Constitution should be vehemently defended is a sign that many of us have become disconnected from our mooring. It should be astonishingly clear that calling what Joseph Smith rightly observed to be “a Heavenly Banner” a “(profanity) piece of paper” should give us indication as to the character of the person who would say such a thing. That the person who said it is the President of the United States is absolutely deplorable. He uses the name of God to blaspheme the very thing he swore by the same name, to uphold and defend.

(BTW the report of the president’s profanity can be found at Capitol Hill Blue, an on-line newspaper. The editor had three sources for that comment. It should be noted that he does not agree at all with those of us who believe that 9/11 was orchestrated by terrorists other than the ones we’ve been sold.)

We face the biggest constitutional crisis in our nation’s history. For those of us who are waking up to the awful situation that Moroni predicted we must mutually support the finding and spreading of the truth to the best of our knowledge and ability.

And so, ldspatriot, I thank you, for bringing those of us with a like mind together.

  11. Hello, Andrew, thanks for your post.

First, let us establish a baseline. Answer this question: what of the follow facts do you no believe?

Do you believe at least this part of the official 9/11 story: The September 11, 2001 attacks consisted of a series of coordinated terrorist suicide attacks by Islamic extremists on the United States on September 11, 2001. The victims were predominantly civilians. On the morning of September 11, 2001, nineteen terrorists affiliated with al-Qaeda hijacked four commercial passenger jet airliners. Each team of hijackers included a trained pilot. The hijackers crashed two of the airliners (United Airlines Flight 175 and American Airlines Flight 11) into the World Trade Center in New York City, one plane into each tower (1 WTC and 2 WTC). A third airliner (American Airlines Flight 77) was crashed into the Pentagon in Arlington County, Virginia. Passengers and members of the flight crew on the fourth aircraft (United Airlines Flight 93) attempted to retake control of their plane from the hijackers; that plane crashed into a field near the town of Shanksville in rural Somerset County, Pennsylvania. In addition to the 19 hijackers, 2,973 people died; another 24 are missing and presumed dead.

  12. ldspatriot,

First, let’s establish that facts are not validated by a person’s belief in them or not. By definition, they are things that can be demonstrated to be true, things that can be proven. A person believes or doesn’t believe an opinion or a theory; as for facts, a person can choose to ignore them or challenge their epistemological derivation but the idea of “belief” is not germane to a fact’s existence. So your question is fundamentally flawed. I will attempt to answer the rest of what you have written by showing the difference between provable facts and popular opinion.

“series of coordinated attacks,” yes, obviously the attacks were coordinated. The probablility of them all happening at random is infintesimally small.

“by Islamic extremists,” has never been proven. That notion was put forth by the Bush administation within 24 hours of the event, an event they have said was a total surprise. Nineteen pictures is not proof; repeated media coverage is not proof; Bush administration statements are not proof. As an American I need proof before I can make any decisions about how we as a country, should proceed.

“on the United States,” while technically true, the connotation makes it appear to be a political act–and therefore a very powerful idea that stirs our sense of well-being, not to mention our patriotic sentiments. If the connection is not proven before the idea has set itself in the American consciousness as a “belief,” then that idea has the ability to manipluate our interpretation in dangerous ways. It then seems to live in our collective senses as a powerful and aligning myth–even though pursuit of its proof would have been long abandoned by then.

This idea is an interpretation given to us by the Bush administration and reinforced by the media. It was a criminal act. Yes, it happened in the United States, but until the perpetrators’ identies are proven it is a criminal event, albeit one of enormous proportion. Connecting the unproven “Islamic terrorist” interpretation to it certainly makes it seem like a political attack since Islamic fundamentalists have repeatedly called for destruction of infidels, including Americans. But this is typical of how powerful myths are promulgated in the absence of honest, dispassionate, and logical debate concerning the event. Additionally, if it were treated as a crime the crime scene wouldn’t have been allowed to be tampered with until an investigation was complete. That of course, did not happen.

“The victims were predominantly civilians,” obviously, this is true and proven.

“nineteen terrorists affiliated with al-Qaeda hijacked,” this has not been proven so it is not a fact, but rather, an opinion–and certainly one that is widely believed and seldom disputed. However, public opinion, no matter how passionate, is not a substitute for careful forensic science, a proper investigation, and logical debate. This is an opinion that certainly could be true, and should certainly be pursued–like all leads which have a reasonable chance of being correct. But in no way should the grave decision to invade other countries be based on it until, if ever, it is proven to be a fact. If someone has ever proven that statement I would certainly like to see it.

“Each team of hijackers included a trained pilot.” This statement refers to an unproven premise, so its validity is irrelevant. Further, according to interviews with flight instructors, many of the pilots were of average ability, and none had any experience flying 757s. This is also an example of a classic non sequitur: men had undergone flight training, that is a proven fact; that these same men hijacked airplanes and flew them into buildings is a non sequitur until logical proof of the events of that day are established. It may very well turn out to be true. An honest inquiry would certainly show it to be so, if it were.

The rest of what you say sounds like the exact same thing we’ve heard all along. The only part that is factual is the last sentence, with the exception of existence of the still-not-proven hijackers.

What we know for sure is that two planes crashed into the WTC. That’s on video tape. The scant footage of the Pentagon, if anything, goes a long way to disproving rather than proving, that an airliner even hit the Pentagon. As for the Shanksville thing, there is more evidence suggesting that plane was blown out of the sky than there is that it crashed in a normal way. Specifically, the size of the debris field and the size of the hole at the crash site lend credence to the plane having met a different fate than what we have been told.

At this point people usually start trying to bring the cell phone calls into the debate. As of 2001, cell phone calls could not be successfully made from the altitude and speed with which the planes were traveling, due to switching problems between the towers. This has been demostrated by A.K. Dewdney, who did tests to this effect.

One point I have to make is that disproving the official story does in no way imply that a complete, alternate theory must be put forth. Those are two very different parts of solving the problem. All that most of us in the 9/11 truth movement are consistently asking for is a thorough investigation–not mere statements such as “You are either with us or you are with the terrorists.” So far, the work of independent research has shown the official story to be provably false, while those supporting that story provide changing theories while still offering the same conclusion.

As for what has been proven:

Building 7 was never hit by an airplane and only suffered minor damage, including that of small fires which produced little smoke. The claim that 20 floors of the south side was damaged has not been proven, only asserted. Never before, never since, have steel-framed skyscrapers ever collapsed from fire, or fire and physical damage–not once. It is standard however, that when a pile of rubble is observed where a building once stood, such a thing is generally accomplished by controlled demolition (obviously not ancient ruins). Therefore, the controlled demolition assertion should be pursued. Fortunately, it has been, and the evidence is conclusive, and, as I’ve been saying all along, provable. On the contrary, the official story cannot explain hardly any of the observations witnessed on that day.

I refer you again, to Steven Jones’ work which you seem to have dismissed merely by asserting all sorts of negative things about his character. Have you ever even met the guy? The tactic of “killing the messenger” has been used over and over, and it usually indicates that the person making the attacks cannot debate the facts. As an example I refer you to Gary Webb’s work on the CIA’s involvment with drug traffickers in Central America in the 80s. And, I will point out, that while the big newspapers attacked Gary Webb from every angle, they never disproved the major assertions that he laid out–both in the original articles and subsequently in his book “Dark Alliance.” Gary was not a “conspiracy theorist” as it is often used in the perjorative sense: someone who makes connections among events without logical proof. He was rather, someone who very carefully concluded through provable facts, that a conspiracy was indeed going on at the highest levels of the US goverment. One which sacrificed the keeping of drugs out of our country for an ends-justify-the-means effort in fighting communism. Clearly, this was an indication that the farcical War on Drugs was, like the current War on Terror, a media event designed to lull the masses into passivity, fear, and unquestioned devotion to an authority they believe has their best interest at heart.

Finally, if you doubt the idea of the existence of conspiracies, read Ezra Taft Benson’s remarks on the subject. If you think members within our own government are incapable of orchestrating attacks on American citizens for political gain (the very definition of terrorism), consider Operation Northwoods. If you think our leaders are beyond lying to us consider Polk’s explanation for why the Mexican-American war was begun.

  13. What a truly pathetic rant about the so called nuts and flakes. If I were to say 1 + 1 = 3, you could go off on a rant or simply prove me wrong. Should be easy right? To repeat that Muslims are evil over and over again proves nothing. So LDS Patriot writer… were YOU there? Did YOU see the hijackers do their evil deeds? Did YOU see the plane crash into the Pentagon? Did YOU get knocked down by an explosion on the 8th floor of one of the WTC towers (well after the jet impact)? YOU…. WEREN’T THERE for ANY OF IT! Your source of info is the national media: TV, radio, newspapers, magazines. The US public buys it (whatever the media puts out). You buy it too. Great. All I ask is that you do the same as Professor Jones and use science in one way or another to show that he is the so called nut you claim he is. If you can’t do this, then perhaps you could consider an appearance on the Jerry Springer Show to express your facts…
